Zeno was a man strong, vigorous, powerful as only a true champion can be. But, contrary to what has been tend to think, Zeno was in the course of your life, persecuted. So a "weak" in some respects. Believe me, it's the truth. Zeno was, in his day, the strongest skier ever. Specialists in all disciplines, he had no hesitation. More difficult was the company and the race attracted him most. He was a champion with a pure physical strength and that exceptional, having virtually no rivals at that time was annoying. In the sense that at the beginning of each race, the result was a foregone conclusion. Zeno was nearly always the winner. He must find the means to "remove" away. A well-known sporting goods asked him if he could give his name to a range of jackets. Zeno there he found nothing wrong and agreed (without receiving a penny of compensation). Thus the well-known (which omit his name for obvious reasons) launches the anorak "series Zeno Colo. A great opportunity! The FIS can not wait. Zeno accused of "professionalism" and disqualification from competitions. Think about that shot for Colo: it was fresh from winning the world championships in 1950 (two gold and one silver) in Aspen, Colorado and the 1952 Olympics in Oslo - Norway where he won the gold medal in the Olympic downhill. Zeno could not believe what was happening to him. He retired at Abetone, who loved his hometown and resumed his life of simple things, like he was. In 1954 he participated as a forerunner to the World Are your time, and was the second best ever. In 1956 he participated in the Olympic Games in Cortina as a simple torch. Zeno tried in every way by the rehabilitation of the FIS but all attempts failed, despite the protests of the Italian public. After his racing career Colò go on to a ski Abetone and His beloved. He strove for the development of district sports and drawing up new avenues for the construction of the largest lift Abetone. The famous "cable car" for which he was unjustly brought to trial on a complaint of "Our Italy," and for which suffered two processes from which, however, came out heads held high. I have known Zeno Colo, deeply and personally, I can assure you that, in addition to being a champion in sport, it was much more in life. Zeno was honesty personified. With a natural simplicity of mind, has never placed before or benefited from its sporting merits, Zeno Colo was a real man. A myth which always refer and from whom to learn. Zeno disappeared May 12, 1993 for an incurable disease. Now rests in the cemetery of Abetone in a simple grave (see photo). Again, I had the honor, the honor of knowing him and he has not been able to teach skiing but something much more important: the true meaning of being human, the true meaning of life.
